Ok how do I re-format my NTFS drive so I can put a fresh XP install in.?

(Never done it with NTFS, and its not the same as FAT32!.. cant boot to dos!)

Restart your PC with the XP CD in it. Then start installing from the CD and when it asks you if you want to reformat, then say yes.

I assume I choose new install? (or do I choose repair?)
Well it depends. Do you want to reinstall it because you want a clean installation of the operating system, or did something go wrong that you're trying to repair?
Its time to do a clean install... my son (who is 6) has learned how to install things.. and ALWAYS click yes to everything it wants to put in.. sooo I have many many extra GIGS of junk.... as well as games he uses once then goes back to playing Zoo Tycoon and Fate..

Well, then that is basicaly it....can't be much simpler then that...just follow the instructions on the screen. ANd make sure that you can boot from the CD (have set CD in front of HDD in the BIOS)...:)

thanks.. yes. Switched BIOS to CD and Booted to XP CD no problem.. just didnt get far enough into the setup!! thanks All
