Hi,
If you really mean the equation that you posted, then I can't believe you cannot rearrange for b, unless this is your first ever experience of algebra.
b = f/(sigma x h) + 6M/(sigma x h^2)
If, however, you mean the following:
sigma = f/bh + 6M/(bh)^2
then just multiply through by (bh)^2 and collect on one side:
sigma x h^2 x b^2 - fh x b - 6M = 0
It's a quadratic in b and you can solve in the usual way:
b = (f +- sqrt(f^2 + 24M x sigma))/(2h x sigma)

There are several ways to isolate B and zaza's post should give you the clues. But he is right, it is not a difficult equation :bigyello:

Hi zaza, I think it's much much easier! Notice both terms on the right side have b in the denominator (not b squared!) so you just multiply both sides by b/sigma and getQuote:
