CD Burning

When you burn a CD using a software such as Nero in Win XP, is it important that you will disconnect from the Internet, disable the anti-virus, firewall etc in order to have a successful burn, or you can burn it simultaneously with these things running ?

I've never heard of needing to close those programs down to burn a cd successfully. I burn in win xp with all those running and doing multiple other things at the same time and never have a problem.
