Is there a way to know who rated a thread (not Reps ;))?
Thread Ratings are the 1-5 stars that you can vote for located at the top of the thread.

Thread Ratings are the 1-5 stars that you can vote for located at the top of the thread.
If you hover over the start rating you can see how many people voted, but I think only admins can see who voted.
The feature has been dissabled in Chit Chat but not world events, can't undersstand why...
I don't believe there is any way to tell short of querying the DB.Quote:

I rate good (and bad) threads. I've managed to drop a few from 5 down to 3 with my rating of 1.
What does rating a thread does?
Yeah, I have always ignored the stars, because I could never figure a relationship between them and the contents of the thread. I guess there are a few people rating threads, but who, and why?
If someone rates their thread as 5 stars, and it isn't what I think 5 star threads should be, I give it my opinion. And if I like a thread, I rate it. If enough people rated threads, they'd actually mean something.
I meant those stars, what do they give to a certain thread? What is its essence?
Anybody can click on Rate this Thread (that is online and a member)
They get averaged and displayed in the thread
There. One 5 and one 1 averages out to 3 stars :)
Well if you didnt think this was a good thread and rated it a 1 star then why did you post more then anyone else. ;)Quote:

Quite the opposite on the content part. Its all about rating the thread, which is the content. What else do you think its rating?
Not sure. If the thread starter rates it as a 5 star question, what is that supposed to mean?
Same concern here, I think it is the system again, well, I could rate 'lousy' threads also, not just good ones but what is really the point of this rating threads? I have seen some rated thread which is not interesting at all. :(
I wonder if there is an option to prevent the thread starter from rating their own thread. That really annoys me, you see a 5-star rated thread and you open it just because it is the only rated thread on that page :) and it turns out to be some vague question written in half-English
Apart from that, it is an OK feature, but the one other gripe I have with it is that a one-star thread catches the eye more than a thread with no rating, even though 1 star is meant to signify that the thread is rubbish...
Why take away the ability of the thread starter from rating his own thread? What if they really like the solution that someone posted? I doubt that the reply'ee will rate their own question by rating the thread. Again, its subjective and thats why you can look at the average star rating. If its only 1 vote then it may not reflect the overall level of the thread. If its got 5 votes and its a 4 star thread then its is a more accurate reflection of the threads contents.
