I have this video file with extension wvx that won't open with Windows Merdia Player or any other progs I've tried, like Virtual Dub. Anyone know what codec it requires -and where I can get it from?

Its like the mov files that link to the real location of the movie file, to stop you downloading the file directly and then distributing it by yourself (well it appears to be, can't remember ever opening one). Chances are the file may have been moved which is why it won't open, and of course they usually encrypt the address to the file inside the wvx file, so you can't just open it up to find out where the file is at.
I think thats how it is anyway, I'm assuming its a clone of how QuickTime's .mov files work.
My only suggestion would be to make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player (>= 9 I think)
You're right, I just noticed the file is just 1 kb in size.Quote:
