[RESOLVED] VB6: Compiler vs. IDE
Maybe a somewhat silly question but I haven't yet found the answer to this so:
What is the licensing status of the VB6 compiler? Is it part of the IDE? Or can it be downloaded and (this is what I really want to know) redistributed?
Thanks in advance :)
Re: VB6: Compiler vs. IDE
It isn't technically part of the IDE, but it is part of the product that was licenced to you - so you cannot redistribute it.
A case in point: You can buy many VB6 books which have the IDE on a CD, but do not have the option to compile programs, for this you must buy an appropriate version (Professional or Enterprise I believe).
Re: VB6: Compiler vs. IDE
Thanks mate. I was hoping it was part of some sort of free SDK. Oh well.
