Do a Google search for online tutorials and/or Java Help sites.
All tutorials to get you on track is at Sun Java's site.
You can look at the various free IDE's available as JCreator, Eclipse, NetBeans, etc. Personally I believe in starting out with raw coding (NotePad, Crimson Editor, EditPlus), move on to a more Java specific simple editor as JCreator, and finally dig into a proper Java IDE (NetBeans..never got that far though)
I started learning Java a while ago (gave up due to C# job offer) and it was one of the easiest languages to find help for. Besides HTML of course.
Good Luck, it's a cool language.
Cheers
btw..You are welcome...Always a pleasure eliminating the competition. :bigyello:
OH, and btw...for in case you did not notice.
There is a very active Java forum on here too.
What do you mean by "one of the easiest languages to find help for."?Quote:

Oh yeah, great tutorials and books for other languages, but the only way to get them for "free" is stealing. :ehh:
Oh..i just realized that english I used made no sense. Not my native language you know. Maybe will improve now that I'm dating an american. :bigyello:
Did not try to say Java is easy. Was kinda hard for someone like me that never got into oop.

thirith like Stranger mentioned VBForums does have a Java forum. While it is not as active as some of the other forums it does have it's regular posters. Whenever i cannot get an answer to a Java question here i take a trip on over to Sun's forums. http://forum.java.sun.com/index.jspa
