Is the MCSD worth the money and trouble?
Also, it seems that the MCSD is very .NET centric.
Would that turn off some potential employers?
If MCSD is not worth it, is there another developer certification that is?

If your looking for a job change then its worth it since you will be able to negotiate a higher wage. The old VB6 MCSD tests are
retired since last June 30, 2004. So, if you want a MCSD its going to be MCSD.NET
.NET is the newer technology and its hot. It would turn on employers. If you look at some of the job boards on the net you will see
that they ask for .NET experience before the ask for VB6.
The only other Certification is still .NET. Its the MCP for passing a single test. Then there is the MCAD for passing 3 particular tests.
Then you have the full blown MCSD for passing a particular 5 tests.
Search MS for MCSD to get a more detailed listing and information of the certifications. :)

You might want to do 3 exams for MCAD, as all 3 will count for MCSD as well.
Add another 2, and you are MCP, MCAD, MCSD!
