Do you mean to turn it off, or to make a costum one? At least on my PC I can turn it off in the BIOS. I am not on that PC now, so can't remember under what menu though.

On MY HP laptop, it's impossible from what I've experienced. It's burned in the BIOS and can't be bypassed. I'd be interested in learning differently if i'm wrong though.
I don't think I have an HP background when I boot up. Do you mean that you have it as your background picture? I have deleted the background picture, and set it to none.
It's like the splash screen before you get to enter in your password for your username.
Well, I guess it's kind of hard to explain...
Do you mean the BIOS startup screen and if you press ESC you can see the POST DOS text?
Press Windows-L (windows start and L for Lock) Is that the screen? You can change the logon if you want.
It the screen that flashes just before the Windows startup screen shows...you can enter the BIOS from that short screen. I can't back this up but Im fairly certain that it's there permanantly unless the BIOS is flashed with a newer version that doesn't include the screen.
He said between the progress bar screen (The Windows XP boot screen) and the login screen, that's past the BIOS.
That wallpaper is what is displayed when you are connected to a domain. If you are using the Welcome screen, you only see it shortly while it loads the welcome screen.
To get rid of it, open the registry editor and open the HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop key and set the string value Wallpaper to (none)
That's exactly it! I think.Quote:
