Re: Another Network Problem
All of the computers in the network has P4 processors except 4 the computer that I'm talking about .... 300mhz (Speed)
Re: Another Network Problem
Does all your computers using the same OS? Have you checked the permissions?
Re: Another Network Problem
Yes they are all running in windows XP .... the computer that I'm talking about runs slowly. Just an hour ago It works fine but now it won't connect
any Ideas
Re: Another Network Problem
Why dont you just replace that problematic computer? ;)
Re: Another Network Problem
I can't do that .... any ideas
Re: Another Network Problem
Maybe that 300mhz cannot cope up with your networked environment. Couldnt you upgrade it instead? That's way too low...
Re: Another Network Problem
If it is dropping its connection then maybe there is something wrong with:
1. The station jack
2. The NICK card
3. The network cable
Have you tried replacing any or all of these?
Re: Another Network Problem
Is the firewall on in the slow computer? That is pretty slow for an XP OS. Maybe it's doing other things that prevent it from connecting? Have you run AV programs on it?

No the firewall is on the server computer .... Do you mean anti virus programs? Yes its slow for xp. It will be replaced next month for now we have no choice.
Re: Another Network Problem
No, I meant Windows Firewall. It blocks connections untill you explicitly allow them access to the network card. If you downloaded SP2, then you have the firewall. Check it out.
