Not sure if this is the right forum so excuse me if it's not :D
when doing an 'advanced search', how can you do a multi-word search ie:
add-ins OR add-in OR add in ???
pretty much, what are some useful search tips?

this is sort of a half-'minded' solution, but
search for
add_ins
_ is the single wildcard on the forums aparently
_ and * are the wild cards. if you search for two word then just write them after each other. like:
hello world
Then it will search for both. Don't need any OR or AND words. Actualy the saerch thingy doesn't support them at all..:)
but doesn't using multiple words tell the search to include BOTH both those words, not EITHER, right? in the hello world' example, it won't find a thread containing JUST hello OR JUST world, it will look for both words in the same thread...
Yes, it is a AND search. If you want to search for one at a time, you have to do two searches. Search in search is not supported either at the moment.

ah ok...then that clears things up for me totally...at least NOW i know :D
Ohhh..and just to elaborate a bit more on that. Hello is actualy a common word. So a search for hello world, would actualy be the same as seraching for just world.
But you also have to notice that if you search for two words, the two words has to be in the same post. Don't have to be in the order that you write them, and there can be a lot of words in between them, but they have to be in the same post in the same thread. So if I write world here now, and you write hello in the next one, and you do a search for hello world, this thread will not be found.
Well that was about it I think. Hope my tutorial is launched soon..:)
