Hi There
I'm considering giving the ForeFox browser a try, and I currently have IE6 on Windows XP. I would like to be able to go back to IE whenever I want to, without too much hassle.
I understand Firefox will port my Favourites contents from IE, but but will the same happen on switching from FF? Is a complete Undo possible?

No, IE does not automatically import your FF favorites.
What do you want a complete "undo" of?
If you are apprehensive about installing FF, in that it may hijack some of your computer's settings, you needn't worry much about it. It will only ask you if you want to make it the default browser. You can say No at first, and when you finally realize that it's one of the best browsers out there, you can always post here and ask us how to make it your default. :afrog:
You can always have both browsers running at the same time. But choosing one as default. Yes you can import all your bookmarks to Fx, but I am not sure if IE has a function like that. But you will of couse have all the bookmarks you have today in IE even after installing Fx, but you don't get the new bookmarks. So I guess you have to import them one by one manualy from Fx if you add new bookmarks after you have started to use Fx.

Thanks for that guys. Been contemplating for weeks, and was a bit apprehensive. I didn't know it was possible for the 2 to co-exist, given that IE is native to Windows. I thought I'd have to get rid of all things IE first. Being a newbie to the concept of alternative browsers, I didn't want to completely lose the look and feel of IE (yet). Nostalgia for the IE diehard.
Well, you better look forward to IE 7 then...or what it is going to be called. Except I bet it will be looking pretty different? Tabdbrowsing? Anyone heard any rumours, or maybe Mendhak has seen it in action all ready?

It's got tabbed browsing, it's confirmed.
Finaly they found out what was best for them. Now only MSN need it....
What do you mean MSN needs it? The new version of the MSN toolbar will also support tabs for older versions of IE in the comming months.
Keep in mind, Microsoft DOES use tabs quite a lot i.e. VS, MSDN Library, Excel etc.
In Firefox you can export all your bookmarks to a separate HTML file which can then be viewed in Internet Explorer. Also if you want easy acess to IE from FF, you can download the ieView extension. This adds an item to your context menu "View Page in Internet Explorer", when clicked, it does the obvious :).

I think i'd rather the two MSN convo windows than one with tabs personally. Especially with dual monitors, tabs don't seem all that useful.
That's assuming everyone has 2 monitors...

I'm still calling it FF. Fx is too marketing-savvy. It seems these days whenever you want to make your product more attractive to end-(l)users, just add an "x" in there. Just look at the pr0n industry!

Try installing all browsers available. That way, you can test pages from a browser to another. Though I belive there's not much change in terms of output when it comes to Gecko-based browsers.
Does IE renders XHTML now?
Hasn't it done that for a long time? My page is XHTML (www.noteme.com) and that page renders, at least with some tweakes to make it work the same way in Fx and IE...
