I killed my hard drive partition
With all my backup stuff on it, about 120 gb worth :(
I did it accidentally while I was installing Windows, I nuked the wrong partition by mistake (still had the backup drive plugged in). Fortunately I realised what I'd done before I formatted it, but the partition record is gone.
It was an NTFS (formatted by XP) partition. I've tried sector editing it, but can't seem to find the backup partition table sector (which I gather they are supposed to have). I have run a full scan on it using some uneraser program, it found an NTFS data sector at #63 but when I looked at it it was blank :(
Any ideas on how I can restore the partition table?
Re: I killed my hard drive partition
This is no easy job - I do not know of any free software that can do this very effectivly most are paid and are quite expensive at that.
Have a look here and see if there are any free ones... I have tried a few of the free ones and they recovered less than 1% of my data...

Sweet thanks for the link Ryan, you're everywhere today :p
I know (at least I dearly hope that) all my data is still there, just the partition info itself is gone. The file record is probably still all there, just a matter of recreating a 149GB NTFS partition. Which I have absolutely no idea how to do :D
Re: I killed my hard drive partition
Hmm, none of them are free :(
