New install doesn't overwrite old program name
Hi,
I use VB6 built-in package and deploy tools to create my setup files. It works ok but one annoying issue is every time I reinstall my software, it creates a new entry in the windows Add/Remove program list. Well, it does overwrite the one in programs group and my program works well. But If I install my software multipal times it will create lots of entries in the Add/Remove list. Could someone give me some suggestions? Thanks.

You need to uninstall the previous installation before attempting to install a new build. ;)

PDW has lots of things about it that make it a pain to use...
well anyway instead of uninstalling each time, you can simply delete the registry entires that make it show up in the add/remove programs screen
this is the key where those entries are.. just find the one that goes to your app and delete it (you could even write a tiny VB app to do this for you...)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
