Reputation Points
How come sometimes I get 4 reputaion points and sometimes I get 8 from a user ?
How can I see how many points I got from each user ?
From what I see when you give reputation points, you don't have an option on how many points to give, so what makes it different for each user ?
Thanks

Re: Reputation Points
There's a FAQ on the subject that explains it in detail but the biggest influence is how many points the rater has.

Re: Reputation Points
Oh and I just noticed your second question. You can go to your user CP and see the last 25 ratings you got but (intentionally) there's no way to tell who left you the points.

Re: Reputation Points
Ahh... so how many points I get from a user depends on their reputation POWER...
How can I find out what is my reputation power ?
And also: "For every year you have been with VBForums, you get an extra point of reputation POWER"
Does it count from the time I subscribed to the VB Forums or from the time you implemented the reputation points ?

Re: Reputation Points
If you leave your username in the comment, you can ask someone how many points they got. You get one extra point per year of membership. You probably have a power of 3.

Re: Reputation Points
Actually I think the formula for Power is...
1 - (default)
1 - per complete year
1 - for every 4,000 posts
1 - for every 1,000 reps points
so you should have a power of 4.

Re: Reputation Points
dglienna, I think I got from you the 8 points...
But folowing the rules, it does not add up...
1 point to start with
You don't have a year yet, one more month...
You have 2 points from posts 9058 / 4000 = 2.something...
You don't have 1000 rep points yet...
So your total should be 3 power points
I'm not 100% it was you, but one thing I know for sure is that one day my rep points jumped by 16 and only 2 new people gave me points (Don't know who is the second person), and you were one of them
