Usually its the Background color of the desktop. I assume that the red color is a wallpaper.You could try changing the background
color to red to match the wallpaper color.
Thanks Rob. I think I can do that but I need help on setting it up to Transparent. Is there any way I can do that? Thanks for the reply. :)
Its transparent on my system at work (XP SP2) but at home I cant see how. Its XP SP1.

Then it should be possible. I dont remember how I did it at work but my walpaper appears transparent for the desktop icons text background.

if u use windows xp and you want the label transparant you can choose in system properties - advanced - performance - visual effect
and you can click 3 check button from then buttom

You mean the last three checkboxes? Mine are already checked but my home system is SP1. Would that make the difference?

I think it will work with SP1. Just a guess.

it's doesn't matter what service pack u used, its a standard menu of Xp.
u cannot changed the transparancy label in win 9x, 2000, and all server OS (windows platform).

Nope doesnt work :( I even tried changing backgrounds to try to get it to refresh. Oh well. Guess I'll just suffer with it. :D
