Posting in capital letters
I noticed once when I posted "ROFL" it came out as "Rofl" :ehh:
So I made a thread in the test area and posted all in capitals. All Got Converted Like This... Then I edited a couple and reinstated the capitals.
Is it some kind of all-caps filtering in the VBF software?
You can see the thread here... and also the thread title got "censored" because that was in caps as well.
Re: Posting in capital letters
There is all-caps filtering. If an entire thread title (or post) is in capitals, then it is asummed that the poster has accidentally left Caps-Lock on, and is therefore converted to Proper Case.
This was introduced as several people (mainly new members) posted questions/thread-titles in upper case to get attention, and several members were annoyed by it as it is considered shouting (it is also harder to read).
I know in Chit-chat there are times that posts in all capitals are valid (such as your example), however this is without doubt the exception rather than the rule.
In my opinion it is better to catch the shouting threads than allow the chit-chat acronym only posts to be formatted as expected.
Re: Posting in capital letters
Thanks for clearing that up. :thumb:
The rule makes good sense as I have seen posts which are nearly all in capitals and it is very annoying to read.

I guess if the poster goes to the trouble of editing their post to put the capitals back (as I did in the test and in my chit-chat example) then it means they have at least put some thought into what they are posting, rather than merely not noticing.
