"Win32.Bube.J"
The file cannot be treated because guess what, its in Explorer.exe?!

Doh, cant rename, or delete it.
What should i do now, if this is the core file of Windows 98?
Could someone send a copy of there Windows 98 Explorer.exe file?
Cheers
try trendmicro.com and see what it has to say about it.
from their site:the cure:Quote:
This malware may be dropped by other malware programs into the system.
Upon execution, this malware drops two copies of itself in the Windows system folder: one using the file name of its executed copy, and the other as SVHOST.EXE.
It creates autostart registry entries to ensure automatic execution at every system startup. It also infects EXPLORER.EXE to ensure that its malicious routine is executed.
It sets registry entries to make the system vulnerable to the its routines, and downloads the file http://adv{BLOCKED}dmin.biz/tasks into the system.

ok, i ran through that thanks, even though some of the registry keys were missing, and i couldnt load Wininit.ini
How does this solve the infected Explorer.exe file though?
EDIT:
