Resizing images without quality compromise

Hello,

Currently i am using basic image uploading script. And when displaying images i am using code to check if image is bigger than 250x250 then resize it to 250x250 and display it...!

Its all working okay except that the image if made small or bigger then it becoming pixelate or something like that.

How do i make them small or large without loosing quality ?

If you use the imagecopyresize() function then the image shouldn't become pixelated. Obviously if you are drastically resizeing the image, you should expect some loss of quality.
