Getting video from camera to laptop
Hey, i am in the very early stage of looking to start making amatuer videos but i have no idea how to get the recorded video on my camera onto my laptop.
On my camera i have: 3 scart sockets (L audio, R audio and video) and socket that says S-Video on it.
On my laptop i have: 6 USB ports, 1 external monitor port (VGA) and an S-Video Out port.
Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to get video from my camera onto my laptop with these ports, or if not, is there a card or something else i can buy for my laptop??
Any suggestions or hints would be appreciated!!
Thanks, BIOSTALL
Re: Getting video from camera to laptop
Ok someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you can't do it without aquiring additional hardware.
You would need some sort of video input device on your laptop.
The easiest solution that I know of would be to get a tv card (Can a pcmcia version of one of these even be found??), anyway then you would need a AV To Coax converter unless the tv card had av inputs.
The TV Card basically allows you to have video input and use your computer as a TV essentially.
Now there may be some other USB device that would do this and be cheaper / easier, but someone else would have to say if there is because I've never seen one.
Edit:
Just did a quick search after posting that and found this in less than a minute, this would prob be something that would suit your needs.
