substring in a field?

How do you put a field in Crystal Reports using a substring of a field?

I am new to Crystal Reports. I am giving up on the PrintDocument stuff. It just isn't working right for what we need. And if you can send me to any websites that would help me out, that would be great. Thanks!

Crystal allows you to create Formulas for just about anything. For a substring you can use the standard Left, Mid and Right functions. The Insert menu should have an option to show the Formula Editor.
