E-Mail Color Fader (Outlook 2000!!!)

I want to create an email color fader for outlook 2000. Does anyone know how to:

1) Get the text of an E-Mail
2) Set text to an E-Mail using different colors

I've already created a program that fades email in AOL, and I'd like to port my program to the wider audience of Outlook 2000 if possible :)
