Well, no one seems to know... I know I don't.
I think I saw in a thread about 2 weeks ago a http address about that. Make sure all threads are displayed (not only the last 5 days) and browse through them. It was in a reply to a thread, so there is no better solution than to read them one by one...

It's a very good game-programming site.
Look at the Voidman tutorial. After studing this one for about a day you'll be albe to program DDraw.
Use the newer 3D landscape tutorial to learn D3D. It's easy too, but learn DDraw first
