Visual Studio .NET installation problem
Before installing the softwares, I have to update some Windows components so it asks me to insert that CD. The problem is that the CD is corrupted at some points (for sure). It has to install "Setup Runtime Files" and "Microsoft .NET Framework". I installed the framework from MS web site but it still tells me I have to install it. And I don't know where to get the Setup Runtime Files. Is there anyway I can install/bypass those things and then move on to actual software installation?
Re: Visual Studio .NET installation problem
I dont think you can download the setup files anywhere, but if you suspect
that the cds are bad then you should take it back to where you bought it
from for an exchange.

Re: Visual Studio .NET installation problem
I don't think I can...got it from Pakistan. And besides the CDs are a couple of years old. I just wanted to do some programming and thought of reinstalling VS .NET.
Re: Visual Studio .NET installation problem
If you still have proof of purchase you may be able to contact M$ as have
them send you a new copy?
Re: Visual Studio .NET installation problem
Hmm, good idea. I'll look for the thing with the serial number and all that stuff on it. Probably lost by now though.
Re: Visual Studio .NET installation problem
If you just have the serial number and its a legitimate copy then that might be all you need.
It could be worth the call.
