DirectSound

Hi!
How hard is DirectSound to learn for someone who has never worked with
DirectSomething in his life?I need to play lots of sounds at once and
music in background so I'm interested in learning how to use DirectSound.
Or is there more simple way to do what I need?
And please give me some URLs for learning DirectX/DirectSound.

To do this, you could use DirectX's DirectAudio package that comes with DX 8.1. The tutorial associated with DX is very helpful.

Direct Sound is easy :) :)

DirectSound is very simple (comparing to other DirectSomthing).

I feel that the DirectAudio (DirectSound + DirectMusic) is the easiest to learn of all the parts of DirectX.

If you're looking to play compressed audio, you're out of luck. Try fmod for an alternative (and better!)
