Any chance this can be disabled for guests. That way spam bots can't harvest e-mail addresses from users profiles. I say this becuase it allows you to enter an MSN ID which must be an email address.

I'd like to see them open in a new window, instead of using the current one.
David, if you click on the User Name or Avatar then it will show the profile in
the same window, but if you right click the User Name or Avatar you can click the
context menu - Open in New Window. :)
HTH
I guess so, but I was used to the way that it was before.
Nobody likes change, but I think it was worth upgrading to the new version
even if it currently has some issues to be work out.
:)
My request has nothing to do with the upgrade.
Well, getting back to the original question. If a visitor is not logged on and
they view the members profiles, they get a secondary screen to compose an
Email or Private Message. On that screen it does not expose the actual
address.
For other IM info, they do display. :( you could choose to exclude your IM
addresses, I guess, for now. Maybe one of the other Mods would be able to
clairify the issue more if needed?
If you view Visuals Profile you'll see the bottom left has the box for MSN ID, it displays it as typed in....Mind Visual you know this version syplies its own box for MSN? The old one is the one Brad added as an extra...the new one I'm not sure it it also displays it.
I have put spaces in my e-mail address. so spam bots can't see it. Simple, but very effective. The new box makes you enter a real e-mail though. :(
I removed the ability for guests/unregistered people to view user profiles. Let's see if I get any complaints :)
Brad!
If their not a member who cares.Quote:
