Why does the alcohol bring out the tuff guy?

Why is it..when someone gets a few drinks in them..they turn into the tazmanian devil?? i dont get it...

Here's a few examples of what happend to me for last 2 weekends..


2 weekends ago me and a friend of mine went to another friends house...then when we entered (however the **** u spell it) his house to party with him and HIS buddies...
one goof out of the crowd says "Who are you??".. so i told em... then he says "Well i dont like you!" ..and i said..
"Well hell i just met you and i dont like you"..then he walks towards me..so i get ready to knock him out..then the guy who owns the house comes up to me and says "naw man just ignore him he's drunk.." so i just went about my business... but does the fact that he is drunk give him an excuse to want to fight??.. i dont think so.


then last saturday i went to another party...and this guy i know who is straight-edge (For all of you who dont know the meaning of straight-egde, it is a type of lifestyle where you dont do drugs or smoke or eat meat or wear any clothes that was made from an animal)..but he was drunk...and crying about the fact that he is drunk and has smoked a pack of cigs, plus is wearing leather shoes. (HAHAHA.. i know it sounds wrong to laugh at that but it just seems ironic..)and you know,when you are somewhere having a few beers..and someone who cant handle there beer is crying and being loud and annoying..it kinda kills your trip.

So anyway..he is all whining and ****..so i tell em.."David!!!! bro i am your friend...i dont care if you are what you are..am your friend." and he says "Naw man you just dont understand.." then he takes his shoe off and throughs it out into the street..and starts to cry again.



geez what is it with some people and there alcohol..lol

Well alcohol definatly effects your ability to comprehend things, you start thinking you can can take the world on Maybethis will help you out figure alcohol out. Untill you do. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!!! that's the only thing i suggest to all the people out there.

I believe Alcohol interferes with the brains ability to piece together relevant information and also lowers or removes "barriers" that usually keep us civilized.

That is why drunk people want to fight or scream or feel women up... all of the social barriers have been removed and they can no longer recognize that this is not acceptable behaviour. Their brains can no longer process information and make connections between what they are doing and the results. What they normally would fear or "hold back" on doing they lapse into a state of stupidity where those factors are no longer recognized... Hence the term "Dutch Courage".

As for the first point I love playing tricks on drunk people (I never drink myself), move their cigarettes and watch as they try to get one... see that it has gone and buy another pack.... So you put them back and watch as they go to get another one and stare at 2 packs. They spend the next several minutes trying to work out how it was their cigarettes had babies... The paranoia sets in about then.

I can think of far better things to lower my inhibitions and barriers without have to "suddenly" grow genitalia from my forehead as a result of consuming enough fermented liquid to set a building on fire or pickle whatever food I have in my stomach. ;)

I believe that a person's true personality shows up when he is drunk. We should not excuse a drunk's bad behavior. Make him suffer for it on the spot and make fun of him if you meet him when he is sober. If drunks did not get away with their atrocious behavior, they would clean up their act.

The drunk who wants to start fights is a belligerent bas**rd. Tell him to go home, or you and however many it takes will throw him out. Remind him that assault is a criminal offense.

The husband who only beats his wife when he is drunk is basically a wife beating coward. Tell him what you think of wife beaters, and offer (in his presence) to testify if his wife wants to arrest him.

The drunken groper of females is a lecherous bum. Tell him you think he should be arrested for attempted rape, and that you will call the police if anybody else is willing to testify against him.

If you meet Elwood P. Dowd, buy him another drink and say hello to Harvey.

Know what ya mean Sopht. Was walking home only the other day with a few of my mates, and some random bloke about 50 yards away on a different road starts shouting "What the f*** are you looking at eh?" at us. I mean, the guy was on his own, and we hadn't even noticed he was there. Some people are just born w***ers. I reckon that their lives are otherwise so empty that they adopt violence as a culture, it makes them feel like a success when they are clearly losers in every other aspect of their lives.

I have been drunk... once... (new years eve!)
and I wasn't violent at all, I was a little tired feeling, but not more than usual :D,
I didn't feel any "sexual urges".. infact, it was less than it normaly is ;)
I was actually pretty normal...
I was sure I was "drunk" because I consumed quite a bit of alcohol...

well I was a little bit more "giggly" then normal...

Of course this is all theoretical, since I am too young to legaly consume alcohol.

It really bothers me when someone does that...especially when you havent even noticed that they were anywhere around you.

Here's a incident similar to that.

I was driving some where once..and there was heavy traffic...and when i finnaly got to where i was going...i had to make a left turn, so i turned my left turn signal on
and when the traffic cleared i made the turn..then as i was turning i could hear "Stupid mother****er!!" coming from the car behind me...and it was some older black man...
so me being the person that i am i flipped him off..
so he slams on his breaks in the middle of traffic and gets out of his car..and comes running at me so i got out of my car and get ready for a fight, then while he his running towards me..he is screaming "You stupid white honkey, white trash S.O.B.". So here i am trying to figure out why this is happening at all..then i tell em "What the **** is your problem!!?" and he says "You cant drive white trash!" (i havent made no racist remarks at all) and i told him "Open your ****ing eyes!..you do know what a turn signal is dont you!!!??" and HAHA i swear the look on his face was that of a newborn baby and he says "Well i dont give a f*** about no turn signal" then he walks up to my face and just stands there..trying to stare me down and i tell him "Well whatcha gonna do?? am waiting" and he just stands there..with the same newborn baby face, so i am thinking to myself...is this worth going to jail over?
a dumb ass fool that just wanted to fight?!!?!
so i just look at him..wand turn away and get in my car and leave...and he still just stands there in his "Tuff guy stance"

All that happend just because someone had a bad day and didnt want no one to "Make him look like a fool"..
geez...(JOKE) When i make my billions..i am going to go buy a island somewhere in the pacific so i can get away from people (/JOKE).

I love it when drunks pick a fight.

I learned Aikido and with someone of my size it is usually 2 seconds before they are face down pinned to the ground with an arm being nearly twisted off behind their back ;)

Had a couple of guys then proceed to throw up in their own face (well they couldn't lift their head so they didn't have much choice) and finish up by sobbing like a little baby. Then the bouncer comes around, looks at the w**ker on the floor, gives me a nod of appreciation and they escort the gentleman to the front door.

Now it seems like I am bragging... But if any of you know how easy it is to push a drunk guy over or what Aikido is you know what I mean ;)

Dennis.... Its not about the sex when a drunk feels a woman up... its about the fact their brain is so fuzzy they no longer have that barrier that stops them from thinking they are a God and that its their right to test the flesh of all who pass by (or make a gigantic ruckus about how ugly a girl is).

my theory is....
If flesh is brave enough to come within 10 feet of me, I can do with it as I wish... ;)

Have you ever noticed how often it's the perfectly sober girls that actually instigate fights between drunks? I mean those who are with their boyfriends. It usually starts with a girl flirting with another guy and making it obvious, leading this guy into making a move or something. Or they'll start some kind of aggro with a guy themselves, knowing they won't get into any trouble for it, and if the guy retalliates verbally then she says "Are you going to let him talk to me like that?"

Then of course, once the sucker boyfriend has proved his pet-rottweiler-like loyalty, she'll try and break it up saying "He's not worth it" and disapproving of how Men are so aggressive.

Honestly, I've seen that so many times.

That happened to a friend of mine once...

When she said to him "Are you going to let him talk to me like that?", I said to him "Are you going to let HER talk to you like that? Take your balls out of HER hands and put them back into your pocket"

All 3 of us (Me, my friend and the drunk guy) laughed and the girlfriend stormed out.

As you can guess I didn't like her very much. :)

Gen-x you probably know what i mean by this, or anyone that has been in fights before.

That weird sensation right before "The fight starts"
right before i get in a fight or a something related to that..there seems to be this ..moment of total focus on the person that you might fight and his buddies...like a scan of some type, if i aint making sense..this story will clear it up (i hope hehe)

One friday night me and some friends of mine were going to a party..so i had to stop and get gas at a gas staion near my home...so as i was walking into the staion itself to pay for the gas..when all of a sudden this dumb **** was walking out of the station and was drunke as hell and he purposley bumps into me and says "what the ****" "wanna fight" so i just laugh and say "Look go drink another beer and go away" and he keeps at his bullshit...so by this time his buddies are saying "naw man he's drunk chill.." then my friends think i am gonna get jumped..so the come out...and what was a simple argument between a drunk and a sober person..turned into a 4 on 4 rumble...my point being...
right before the rumble started..i remember grabbing the drunk by his t-shirt and closing my fist to hit him..and as i did that every thing around me seem to slow down..
not that slow down where i am actualy slow...but my perception of reality slowed down, i remember looking at everyone ..watching there positons ..seeing who was off balance at the right moment who was basically gonna get a beat down.

I took the drunk guy down with one punch (well duh) and the rest of the fighting was like a blur... all my actions..were sort of automatic.


Strange perception...very strange... everything for you moves slow..but then it seems to happne so fast.

I relate it to the fight scenes in the Matrix. Everything seems slower, but is actually moving incredibly fast.

Everything just slows down and you can see what's coming next just as if it's all choreographed. You just *know* what's coming, even without reading their eyes and you've already started shifting balance to deal with it.

I think it's a byproduct of martial arts training, as all the people I know who studied martial arts as long as I have experience the same thing.

Funnily enough, it doesn't happen that often when I'm only sparring - just on rare occasions (probably when I think I'm going to lose).

Must be a huge adrenaline surge or something.

PS Never managed to master that trick of running up the walls very well though ;)

Yeah I know exactly what you mean.

Its a combination of a few things... firstly the training, when your body has practiced something repetatively it instigates autonomous responses. Some martial arts train you to accept your body and flow with it (ie Aikido) which makes it seem natural while others (ie Karate) force you to think what to do next (in my experience anyway).

The second thing is called Adrenaline. Its the "Fight or Flight" drug of the body and it hyper-accellerates your senses, fills your muscles with additional oxygen that is gained from your increased heart rate and thus prepares you to initiate heavy expenditure of energy. Part of this effect is that your brain also gets more oxygen and functions faster and sharper.


But whats all this punching stuff? What a waste of time in my book. Anyone can hit someone, but to see someone take someone down while barely exhurting themselves and using that other person like a rag doll is much more effective in a fight. You put someone down and thats it.. they are down, But you use one of them like a rag doll and send them barrelling into their companions (with a nicely broken wrist) and you have more effect.

I have seen someone who is only 5' tall and probably 120lbs put down a 6'3" 200lb bohemouth with nothing more than a single grip of his wrist. The guy was in so much agony it completely startled the people with him and they thought twice before approaching.

You have to be smart not tough... and sometimes smart is not being there at all...

but i have been researching a little bit on some grab's and stuff...

The best I have seen so far involves pushing somebody against the wall,
and don't hold any part of their body, just push there head sideways, so your hand is on one cheek, and the wall is on the other,
then you stick your thumb where his adoms apple is... move it over, so its kinda under his ear, and push up,
make sure your finger is underneath his jaw,
if it is right under his ear, you could bust his ear drum, which is bad!!
the way I just explained causes lots of pain, and possibly loss of blood to the brain.... BE CAREFUL!!!!!

That puts you in an incredibly dangerous position. You have committed your energy and are now at the mercy of its effect.

That was why I did Aikido specifically... Its a defensive martial art and only used when someone attempts to use force against you (such as using force to shorten your nose with their fist).

At that point when they have committed their energy you "blend" with it and enhance it, removing from them their control and their balance and leaving them in a state of complete vulnerability to whatever you want to do with them.

After doing it for a year my wrists thickened by 2 inches (as if they weren't thick enough anyway) and my grip increased 4 times. Simply by holding onto someones wrist I was able to bring them to their knees simply by gripping them.

You should try it... First year is spent learning the physics of your body and it opens your eyes, I don't think I could fall over now (amazing balance gained from doing it) if 10 people pushed me ;)

There isnt no aikido training around here..or i would check it out..but i understand the basics of it i think.

Here's another story that really amazed me...well i was only 10 so yeah just about anything amazed me then..lol

Well to make it short... my uncle was doing a favor to a friend of my fathers...because the friend had a business partner who was blackmailing him..so when the guy came into the restaurant to do more "blackmailing" my uncle hehe ran up to the guy and said.. "Los angeles poloce department..your under arrest for blackmail!" haha (he wasnt a police officer!! haha) and i thought the guy would just say "ok you got me" but NOOOO haha the ****ing guy pulls out a 6 inch knife and tries to stab my uncle with it!!! then the strangest thing i had seen up to that point happend...mu uncle grabbed the knife out of the guys hand...clenched the knife into his fist and punches the guy in the left eyebrow and blood shot out of his eyebrow about 5 feet into the air and the blood landed on the some persons food that was sitting next to them! HAHAHA ..Then my uncle took the documents and gave back to the guy who was being blackmailed.... he got $300$ for risking his life...but i guess when your nutz and dont have a job it's ok eh? HAHAHA. But anyway..that was the quickest i had ever seen someone disarm another person.

On a side note...this story reminded me "I dont need the 2x4 dennis!! lol" my uncle use to tell me his vietnam stories and he said that one time, his squad was out on patrol and they had stopped in a village to rest, and while they were resting..some little vietnamese kid (about 5 or 6) walked up to my uncle and his squad and stood there..in the middle of them...so of course my uncle and the squad he was in were thinking "whats this kid doing here?" so my uncle walked up to the kid and kneeled down next to the kid and said "Hey little boy what".... and before he could finish BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the little kid exploded..and it killed 4 of the guys in the squad and blew part of my uncles head off...(he had a steel plate put in place of the part his head..neat eh? haha) but what he was told what happend was that..the people of the villiages that were supporting the vietcong guerillas, would take THERE OWN CHILDREN and place grenades and other types of explosives around the waist of there children..and then send them to a squad of u.s. marines that was near the village resting to kill them.....kinda heartless dont ya think?

I think it all depends on your "style of play". If you're a defensive person then Aikido is the sensible choice. I, on the other hand, favour a much more aggressive stance in a fight. I prefer not to wait until they have planned their offensive and move to carry it out, I'd rather deal with them straight away and not have to worry about whatever they may have planned later.

Someone once said: The best defence is a good offence...

But, each to their own. I have enough speed and power to lay down a barrage of blows and still keep my defenses tight enough to come out without taking any damage. Behemoth (my sparring partner) will testify to this.

Because I'm not exactly tall I have to be fast and nimble or I'm going to get wasted without landing a hit. Behemoths reach is about 1.5 times mine as he's Six foot lots (hence the name). From a standard squaring off position I have to take about 2.5 to 3 steps to get up close and personal and all he has to do is roar and swing his arm like a tree trunk.

Against someone who I know has studied Aikido I would use a large amount of lightning fast punches and kickes. Hard to do anything but parry them - not really much chance for them to do anything responsive unless they are *really* skilled.

I can keep up this blitz attack for 3 or 4 solid minutes (a hell of a long time in a fight) but I've never had to. Most people aren't capable to dealing with it (non-martial artists) and those that can slip up with their blocking fairly quickly. As soon as one punch gets through thats about it.

I have also studied Aikido for a while amongst my other martial arts and have learned a sizeable number of counters to the common techniques. A lot of people I know who've studied Aikido tend to be a little too confident that if someone grabs their wrist they can deal with it.

I often grab their wrist specifically because I can counter or avoid what they're likely to use and it's nice to see the surprise in their eyes.

Have you studied any other martial arts Gen-X or have you only studied Aikido?

Alcohol doesn't make you violent necessarily, it just brings out your innermost emotions and loosens your inhibitions.

So someone who is miserable and angry, are violent when they drink.
