Clarification on windows messenger and msn message handler in profile.
You entered an invalid MSN handle.
I get that error when I put in my id for windows messenger. Are the two different programs or something? I use the one that comes with windows but then I see it for download on MSN's website. Why would you need to download it if it comes with windows and only works with windows? Thats why I am wondering if I am mixing up two different programs.

It doesn't come with every version of Windows...only XP if I am not wrong. Let me test this.

It worked for me. Are you sure you wrote the whole thing, with the @ and the .com or what ever?

Ah, that must be what I am doing wrong? I didn't know there was an extension. What is the extension for instant messenger. I always just used the id, but now I notice there is a place for your id but also a place for your handle. I think theres where my mix up is. What is the extension for the handle? [email protected]?

Can be any email address actually, not sure what the default is but mine is @hotmail.com @msn.com might be the default though cos I used an existing email address when I first used MSN.

Extension....doesn't it work for you to just write [email protected] in the CP? Or am I totaly not getting what you are trying to do here?
PS: If you don't like spam, you shouldn't write your whole mail addres like that on a public forum...the spiders can, and will grab it...;)

Windows Messenger comes with Windows XP (And Longhorn too i spose) and is designed for corporations. MSN Messenger is the general user one and the recommended one. The Messenger thing if I'm not mistaken is for your E-mail address you associate with Messenger, not your handle.

You're right about being a bad idea to post your e-mail. Nope thats not my e-mail but I thought maybe that was the handle but the post prior to this one gives an explanation I am going to try.
