annoying RAR file...

Hi
I have this annoying rar file....withint the is 50 other rar files r0x-r49, all IDENTICAL in size!?!? Why this?! And how do I extract it properly???

You have to extract the rar file, to a directory. Then from the 50 files extracted, choose the one, with the .rar extension. Extract that, and you're done

yeah it doesnt matter which one as long as it contains a .rar. They are all the same

unless the extension is different, then open the first one. they are spanned.

Why do people do this, when there is exactly the same thing in all the files?

Rar compresses slightly better than Winzip, so a rar compressed rar is smaller, and you can group all required 50 rar files.

BTW, they won't have the same files in, one file (at least) will be different to the rest.

Because warez are often distributed over Usenet is multiple rar files to make it easier to get and if you get it from a different source liike Kazaa or bittorrent they are usually stuck all into a single rar file.
