Ok, do you know if ICQ will work without having to access registry? I mean i have this comp with Win NT where i'm not allowed to store anything in registry, and not on c: either. So i can of course copy out all those dll's and stuff into ICQ folder but how do i avoid the registry?
also, have anyone done something alternative to ICQ with the icq, api's?

Hey kedaman my friend, I now see why you weren't on ICQ last time, no problem mate, hope to see you soon.
About the Q, ICQ stores things on C: (in the db folder or 2000b or something like that), so I think you can't run it from there :(
I think ICQ uses registry but I don't you can pass this without a hex editor :(
About the ICQ api, I used it a while a go to create an ICQ bomber (just for fun) but I failed to press the Send Button (pfewww, my friends happy :)) (I didn't knew about FindWindow(ex) and SendMessage api's).
Hope to speak to ya soon!

Nice to see you jop :)
i think the db folder is in the icq folder which is on h:\ that is where i can store my files, so i think that's not the problem, but maybe it's the registry. I tried to run ICQ win2k, where i haven't installed it yet, and it just didn't do anything at all, no error messages, no nothing!
you have the icq api's can you post them here jop?

I'm sorry man, I lost them when I formatted my harddisk ;(
