I think one major problem is many people probably just visit here during work hours, and IRC ports are often blocked in offices.

yeah, probably, thats why I think MSN is perhaps the best option, unless of course you have the ports blocked, in which case you can use the web-based version, a little bit slow but hey, no way they can block that.
A small web-based (aspx?) or java-based chatroom, linked to from vbforums, so you log in with your own username+password, would be a good idea.
It'll be just like chit chat at a faster speed.

Actually it would not be such a good idea! A lot of companys block entertaining sites with smart filters! All sites including a chat are considered entertaining. Why not just stick to chit chat! Its a good chat alternative!Quote:
