Hi
Yes you can 'Export' your report to excel, word, pdf, etc...
regards
Jorge
thanks..... how? is this a complicated process?
Not at all if your vb program is using the Crystal Reports Viewer
control. It has an Export button on it, which all you need to do is
click it and choose the destination path and format. How are you
displaying the report now (if you are or direct printing)?
im having problems exporting with excel using that export button... well thanks anyway... im displaying it as a report and print it afterwards
If you have the Developer version of CR there is a hellp file called
runtime.hlp. It will tell you what CR dll files are required for each
control used and for certain types of functions. There are allot of
them.
Are you getting error message or ???
no im not getting an error message, sometimes its successful, somestimes its not. if it is successful then there will appear a progress dialog. then the excel file created will have a file size which is greater than zero of course. If it is not successful then no progress dialog appears and the file size of the created excel file is 0..
its like it having a successful excel file is randomed. i dont know, im just assuming, Even if i try exporting it in any excel format like 5.0, 2.0, 5.0 extended... thanks
Yes, I have seen that. I believe it happens when there are missing
dependent dlls for CR. Not top level that will cause your report
creation to error, but exporting dlls. This is why I suggested the
runtime.help file. There is a different dll for each type of export
format.
Export a CR Report Dlls:Also, is Excel running before you test? Not that it should
- U2DDISK.DLL - Dependency for file to disk export.
- U2FXLS.DLL - Dependency for Microsoft Excel format.
matter, but just curious.

thanks... it took me some time to reply coz im bz. but thanks.. the dll files are already included when you create a package for the project, ryt? but still the same results are happening.
thanks.. im really not sure what is happening.. but thanks for your help. maybe you could help me again this time. thanks.
thanks a lot..
No the dll files are not included when you create a package. You
need to add them using the additional files button.
Use the runtime.hlp help file to determine the files needed for
your app. Then add them in the package or copy them over after
the install.
