Hi everybody!
Using Microsoft Word, I have created an HTML page that contains hyperlinks to local Word documents, and custom Word templates.
The problem is that when I click a hyperlink to a template, the corresponding file opens, rather than creating a new document based on that template.
Any suggestion?

What do you mean by creating a new document based on that template?
When you double click a template, it does not open, but a new document based on that template opens. All data in the template will be added to the document, then you modify the document, give it a name and save it in a new location.Quote:

What do you mean by creating a new document based on that template?
If you want to edit the template, you have to right click it, and then click Open rather than New.
oh, you mean in Word, not in the actual HTML document.
OK, well. I don't think you can change that, it's just a setting MS made. Sorry. BTW, use Dreamweaver MX 2004 instead, that's a lovely web developers thingy. Or else use HTML-Kit, anything but Word. Even MS frontpage is better than word, but only just.
I'm not familiar with web programming languages, even with html, and thats why I have sent this thread, so, would you please send me a code that does that?Quote:

What?! I never mentioned any code. I just said that you can't do what you're trying to do, MS made it that way. You'll have to keep doing it the way you are currently doing it.
I also said that you should not use MS word for making web pages. I'd recomend that use Dreamweaver MX 2004, which Macromedia made. It's a very nice application as it has plenty of things to speed things up for you.
I can understand that you probably don't want to spend money on this though, so unless you can find (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) a copy. I recomend that you download HTML-Kit. This software is free to use and quite good. I also strongly recomend that you learn HTML, it's arguably the simplest language to learn. www.w3schools.com have a decent tutorial on the subject.
