Shouldn't a VB forum be written in VB? If you can't tell, I'm talking about VBForums.com.

how you gonna manage that
unless you create your own client / server app
i could understand if i mean vbs / asp
Obviously I mean ASP or ASP.NET
Nope. :)
I think it would be good to have a VB Client but meh, who would make it and manage it. At least vBulletin is a tried and tested product with lots of features ;).Quote:

Mind if there was a VB Client then there would be issues to do with display like Ads, people would find it easy to alter the client (or make their own) which has the ads not showing and stuff like that ;).
How about ASP.NET Forums. It is also tried and tested.
http://asp.net
To me vBulletin seems to be the best Forum software going to date so I don't really see any reason we'd want to change to ASP, apart from cos this is a Vb site and don't think thats very relevant mind ;).Quote:
You should find comfort in the fact this is a programming forum and the forum is run on a Programming language :D  :D.
I see no relevance in what scripting language was used to create this forum. vBulletin is the best forum package I've ever seen, plus the guys who started it also started this site, so it makes sense that this site would use it.
I have to agree with you there...at least version 2.X is the most user friendly and easy to navigate forum I have ever used. It is so much crap out there, and I can't see what the diffrense for us would have been if we where running on ASP.Quote:

Even though it started as VB Forum and the name suggest that too, it is far from a VB only forum. The list of topics covered in this forum has become far more the just VB.....Quote:
