That is what I meant by a spyware application. I can understand you confusion though. :ehh:
I've been having problems with icons appearing on my desktop out of the blue and keep coming back when I have deleted them.
I ahd problems with spyware a while back. I definitly would not recommend writing your own app for this. There are a lot of good free apps already out there. There are also lots of spywhare/adware removal forums as well.
Start with HijackThis software and go from there.
Hope this helps.
Eric
Its a matter of creating yourself a database with what registry settings and files each known spyware uses, then your app just looks for those and deletes them.
There are hundreds of known spyware/adware possibilities. It will not be a quick thing to do and will require lots of research on all the known spywares.
I had a look on google at some freeware removers. The software writers seem to work full time at keeping up to date with new spyware.
I'll have to opt for the easy life and down load a tool to do it for me.
I just get so bored writing database applications sometimes. I need a new challenge.
Why re-invent the wheel? Ad-aware is one of the best. Just deploy that to your corporate environment.
Spybot S& D is the other really good freeware one, it's best to use it and adaware as one will often catch what the other misses.
Spybot S & D
Adaware
I've installed SpyBot S&D I'll have a look at Adware today.
