Errm... a resource editor? The Control panel items are just exes I think? So the images should appear in there.... :dunno:
indeed. reshack - download it or i can post a zip with it :)
It rings a bell all i can remember is that either changed the oeminfo.ini or created one and the fist line was [General] and and to change the logo i changed the oemlogo.
sorry i carnt tell you more but if its win98se then your on the right track here .
go luck
The Oeminfo.inf trick adds another image to the buttom of the dialog, he wants to change the Windows logo.
Mybe a reg hack
I am using win98se but I can't find the 'Oeminfo.inf' file. what is the problem?
That file isn't there by default, rather when you buy it from an OEM retailer, it is there to brand the installation with their logo and a button usually containing contact details. It sits in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder. Google it for more details.Quote:

what your after ..?
He is after the Windows Logo.
Ok, I haven't tried it since I don't really want to destory the logo in System, but,
http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/
Download ResHacker
Run it, and goto C:\Windows\System32 and choose sysdm.cpl
(you might want to make a backup incase you screw it over)
In the file tree that appears, choose Bitmap and then choose 1. I think 2 is for users who only have < 16bit colours.
I think you just right click on it (in the file tree) and choose replace resource. :)
Yes it worked form me following PC_MADNESS advice
well in:thumb:

I changed logo, manufaturer and support information using oeminfo.ini
But when I try to open sysdm.cpl from ResHacker an error occured like -
"This is not a win32 executable file."
why?
My operating system is win98se.
