I should be able to go to Server Explorer and create a stored procedure or a function as per the help files. I do not have any menu choices or the ability to create them. Any idea why? Here is the MS help on adding a SP. I do not have a SP folder. or the choose new SP on the menu.
To create a new stored procedure
In Server Explorer, right-click the Stored Procedures folder or any stored procedure in that folder.
Choose New Stored Procedure on the shortcut menu.
what version of visual basic are you running? certain versions have limitations.
VS .NET 2003 Pro is what it supposed to be, I was just looking into that. Its version 7.1.3088. How do I find out if that is in fact professional? We bought the pro version but I was not given the originals as they only buy a license and use the selects.
that's the same version I have and mine is Enterprise Architect. I thought it actually said what version it was though. interesting. I will help look into this.
Server explorer would be under View - > Server EXplorer if you have it.
I just talked to the IT staff and they cant find the originals, so they are going to order a new copy of the CD's. Is there a difference between Pro and Academic Pro?
Server Explorer is there, and I can see existing SP's. I just cant add or edit one.
I *think* it's only available in Enterprise... but I'm not sure....

I have found that I can create a SP on the server thru the dataadapter. This is just weird.
Pro and Academic Pro should be identical in abilities, but Academic has restrictions on the license.
