I'd like to develop a small, standalone application to distribute and sell. What is the best, low cost development tool, easy to use as well? The application will basically have a few forms, communicating with a small text file.
Your direction is appreciated.
If it is nothing more then that VB sounds like a good idea. If you don't need much prosessing VB is good for most small graphical applications.

The size of the VB6 version should be smaller. Becuae it doesn't need the framework, but if you don't consider that VB.NET is probably better, but it all depends on what you are best at. If it was me I would have done it in VB6, because I don't know much about the syntax in VB.NET, but that is totaly up to your skills. Probably better suited for the future if you go with .NET tho'

VB dosent make stand-alone exe's, so you need to go with Delphi. (note that Delphi is actually just as easy as VB)Quote:
