Why is it two VB.NET forums?
I'd seen that too, the one thats in the .NET section (the almost empty one) always messes up on links too. Like if your not using cookies then all the forums links should have the cookie id on, but for that one it doesn't. There was somethign else it does strange but Idon't remember now .
:D
I have never been to either of them. But I went in there now. And the link is the same...hmm..
They have probably done it so everybody can see it no matter where they look for it.
Ow yeah they both have a ID 25, mind if you disable cookies you'll notice the links won't be the same ;). Pluss there seems to be 3 threads lost in the ether as a result :eek2: :D
I think there should be two of every forums, so we can segregate.
Seriously, the link is probably in both places so a user doesn't freakout when he can't find VB.NET in the VB Section, and doesn't freak out when he can't find VB.NET in the .NET section.
It would be cool if the post counts matched up, though. I'd rather post in the forum with 52259+ posts than the one with 4 posts (even though I know they go to the same place (usually)).
Seems I'd get better results in the one with 52259+ posts.
Ya know? :)
Yeah....before I clicked the one with 5 posts, I thought it was left behind, so I didn't think anyone was using it.
But I think you are right. It is probably so everybody can find it, even if they are looking for .NET or VB.
The Hobo is correct in that the one points to the other so people will find it in both places. (VB.NET Forums that is).
If you accidentally (or on purpose) sneak through the system and get into the secondary forum, you'll see that the only legitimate post says that you should be someplace else. The count wasn't reset to 0 or 1 (for the one post) because that would require resetting all the counters -- which would put a number of members into a tizzy because they had their counts manually set after the loss of posts when the system crashed (before jupitermedia owned it).
This may be more info than was asked :)
Brad!
