(?) Big Bill is watching me? - VB.Net INI file

Esteemed Forum Participants and Lurkers:

Does anyone know the function of the "FXSection" in the application installer for VB.Net? As shown in the example below, it occurs in the installer INI file in each application that I create. Is Big Bill watching me? What happens if I install the application to a PC that is not connected to a net?

its just a web link to where to get the runtimes if the installer sees you dont have them. no one is watching you.

It is a program that takes your pin number from your bank account and all your credit card numbers and uploads them into Bill's Personal Bank account. How do you think he became a Billionaire in the first place??? :p :rolleyes: :D

Amazing. No offense to Webtest, but I've seen ignorance like this circulate around the net in the form of a rumor for a while before someone finally decides to step up and investigate. It's stuff like this that hurts Microsoft's credibility, and of course reporters and people in general are willing to jump on the "let's blame Microsoft for everything that sucks" bandwagon.

I'm glad you decided to post about it however, becuse that's the way to learn. But rather than make assumptions, ask questions. It doesn't hurt. Not everytime you see a hidden URL in an .ini file should you automatically assume that something fishy is going on.

My apologies for being a little stern, but that methodology just really irks me for some reason.

Ummm ... do I need to apologize for my paranoia? If so, I apologize. (However, my paranoia has been helpful ... I don't have Explorer or Outlook on my personal machines and I have NEVER been infected by a virus, and I rather enjoyed Cander's comment!)
