MotherBoard

Ok i recently put together a PC from all my old bits for my grandma (because i'm nice like that ;)) anyways the sound card on the motherboard seems messed up, its got a pentium 2 (low low speed) and about 120mb memory anyways i need to pick her up a new motherboard (nothing fancy, all i need is usb for the net and sound card plus she doesnt want to spend loads and it must accept pentium 2 low speed) does anyone know of a motherboard like this? she doesnt want to be spending a lot of cash :)

I dont think youll find this at any retail/internet store...try Ebay...

Most probably be cheaper and easier to get her a beeefed up thingy and put XP on it.

If all you are missing is USB and sound, the simplest option is to go to PC World (or somewhere similiar), and buy a sound card (about £6), and a USB card (probably £10-15).

i would recommend buying a all in one combo board (video/sound/network/ect) for less than $200 at it will last a while ...

You are probably not going to be able to find a brand new motherbaord. I'd recommend eBay or a second hand computer shop. You can usually pick a base unit for about £30 and rip out whatever you need.
