What to do next ?
Well i think i know the VB basics now fairly well, have coded a nice P2P app using the Winsock control, the Winsock API and a Winsock control wrapper.
So i need to know what else i can progress to. Make some user controls, add-ins, or class modules, or start learning some database programming etc..?
I'm hoping to find some coding work in the future, maybe a bit on in the future right enough, but thats the plan.

I have been think of my next step as well and have recently started work off traditional database methods (Access, MsSQL,MySQl..). I'm looking at something along the lines of how games developers works with data.
Database is the right area.. everyone uses them without being much aware of.
hmmm... games... [Yum] :bigyello:

Databases first. Understanding, building, normalizing, writing t-sql is probably going to give you more milage than any of the other technologies you listed.
.Net - The future is with .Net, the faster you jump on board, the more opportunity you will have to achieve your goals. VB6 is good, and there is a lot out there, but it will be dying off, and there are plenty of VB6 people out there right now that can support the stuff that is already written. VB6 would not be a 'only' skill type of language for working in the future.
