This time its not as bad because it doesnt come up as often, but the Orange MS ad that comes up for MS Office steals focus like the old MS ad did.

Whenever I type in a reply, I'll press TAB afterwards, so that it should go to the Submit button below. Often, the focus goes elsewhere. Is this what you're talking about?
Use Alt+S
Nope, but similar.Quote:

What is being referred to is different from that. What happens is you will by typing a message (like this one) and the focus is pulled from the text entry box to the ad or to the browser. This results in letters you are typing in the message being sent to the browser (thus to the menuing commands usually). The results are unpredictable, though based on what you are typing. When it happened to me (it has been a while) I'd end up going back several pages in my browser.
Brad!
The other day I noticed that the caret in the textarea for a reply was flashing much faster than normal...then it would slow down...and speed up again.
It only did it at this site, and it's not doing it now...but there's also not an ad showing up at the moment.
I'll post more details if it happens again, but maybe it was the same ad Brian's talking about?
Yeah I've noticed that before I guessed it was VBFs way to stop the ad taking focus by keep setting focus to the text area really fast. Didn't look at the code so never found out :).Quote:

Is there anyway to just remove Ads when we reply or create new topics?
Strange you said that becuase I thought that was the case just an hour ago, I saw ads when viewing Threads but not when I was on the reply screen. :)
Better yet: is there anyway to just remove the ads when I view the site?Quote:

By the way, things are much more consistent in FireFox, I've only had that problem in IE.
