Can anyone tell me whats the BEST book to learn VB.NET
Sir, U mean Visual studio.net 2003??
Kindly guide me as there are 100++ books on VB.net out in the market.
I am a newbie
If you are brand new, never programed ever, I would get Visual Basic.Net Step By Step . Its basic but like the title says, it walks you through everthing step by step and moves very slow.
Otherwise if you have had some experience, I would get Programming Visual Basic.Net (Core Reference) . It is more advanced than the above book, but still offers nice little snippits of code.
Hi andyoye'
I think the very easiest book to start with is James Foxalls Teach Yourself Microsoft Visual Basic.NET 2003 in 24 Hours. It is far better that earlier 24 Hour books and, most important, he operates a web site on which you get prompt answers to any problems you may have with the book. The ISBN is 0-672-32537-3
You can get cheaper copies from him via his web site http://www.jamesfoxall.com/ (If you do contact him say hello to him for me! I Plagued his life for a few weeks!!!)
I would urge you not to consider Programming Visual Basic.Net (Core Reference) ISBN 0-7356-1375--3 by Francesco Balena at this stage. It is very expensive and will only be of value when you have a good basic knowledge as the writer is NOT a good teacher. If you buy it now you will remain confused for years!! I bought one 18 months ago and am only just beginning to use it.
Yesterday I managed to buy a cheap copy of Sams Teach Yourself MORE Visual Basic .NET in 21 days and it looks good as a second book at the moment. I will post my conclusions on this in 21 days:bigyello: :bigyello:
