How to know the New Email Count.

Hi,

I have used the System.Net.Sockets.NetworkStream to get the Total Email Count. But I would like to know how to get the Unread New Email Count only. How do we do that ?

Also is System.Net.Sockets.NetworkStream the only way to receive & read emails from the inbox ?

If there is any other free component pls suggest.
