I have a feeling that the U.S is behind this...
 One post and this thread has already gone stupid.
That wouldn't surprise me. They seem to be the only country who can do what they like and get away with it.Quote:

It takes the UK security services one night to work out that those British prisoners released from guantanamo bay arn't a threat. It takes the US two years. It begs the question - how many more innocent people are being held?
Please use another thread for political slander.
back on topic.
Its appalling they dont seem to know who did it! Not normal for terrorists :(
Al Qaeda have claimed responsibility apparently.Quote:

1- Too big for ETA
2- A tape found with Coran versicles
3- There are clues that some terrorists were suicides
4- A letter sent to a british newspaper
ETA has always wanted to do this so its not really
Tape does not mean a specific group though
Suicides i admit are mostly from Al queda(SP?) but not always
Was it the Sun newspaper? :p
I admit it does point strongly toways al but we should be cautious that they arent just placing a claim in on it :)
Wait just a minute....
Where is Spain again?

Sorry, but when someone says something stupid, I react.
I know the US isn't behind it and the comment I made was un-neccessary, so sorry if I offended anyone.Quote:

Hope not he seems to be the beacon of all animosity towards America wether he deserves it or not. :) :)
If it was another President, the same things would be said about him/her *coughs*. Unless of course, it was Gore, he wouldn't have done a thing and we'd all be speaking arabic.
Poorly commented code!! Two years at camp x-ray for thatQuote:

Our condolences and I hope none of your dear ones were victims. Its a monstrosity, nonetheless.
In all seriousness, oh! please! let it be Al - Kaeda. If not, the US of A is really going to fumble bigger time in prosecuting this "war on terrorism".
Al - Kaeda, Taliban, B'ahth Party, dear old Kim of North Korea, dearest Castro in Cuba, A Q Khan and his friends,.... and these are just a few of their favourite things.
Adding ETA would really compound problems and really add to the Spanish people's woes. They are in shock already. Stringent security clearance procedures for Spaniards travelling to the US of A, most likely the first EU nation to face that, rounding up suspicious persons of Spanish origin by the DHS, etc. will be counter-productive. It certainly has not helped with the Arabs.
On the other hand, if it is Al- Qaeda, one less people and one less country need to face the ignomy of American wrath.
Regards
KayJay
Condolenses to Spain and any others who have suffered in the cowardly attack.
When will these terrorist morons finally understand that their acts don't to crap for their cause, and only hurt people that cannot change what they want changed? I guess mental illness keeps the terrorists from seeing that. Not one incident in history shows terrorism winning the terrorists' cause. In most events, the terrorists take a bad beating and lose more and more. Terrorists should just kill themselves in an open wheat field.
-A Tape found in a van with 7 detonators is a strong clueQuote:

But terrorists don't just think. If they did, they weren't terrorists in the first place.
To set the timers to make some bombs explode 30 minutes after the first ones, to panick the volunteers, is demoniac.
The aim was to collapse the train station. This plan failed due to the delay of two of the trains. Thanks God this didn't happen in England or Germany!
Wouldnt have worked in the UK because the trains dont even run on time. As stupid as it sounds it could save the UK from a well planned attack on its trains
Does anyone else wonder how much of all these terrorist attacks are really being done by Al Queda (sp?)? I wouldn't put it past them to claim that an attack was done by them.
Its certainly a concern that they are only claiming to it and not doing it but then terrorist organisation 'Usually' do it to make a point and thus claim to it. Eta normally gives warnings and no warning were issued. They technique is very 'al queda' in nature.
We may never really know :(
I think its Al Queda. It has similarities with 9/11. Firstly there were multiple attacks at approximatley the same time and it appears that the attackes were designed to kill as many as possible.
Let us hope the UK is not next.
I think you did it!!! You're pure EVIL !!!...Quote:

Oh, sorry i don't really know you.
If you want make that comment, at least be a judicious traveller to study history, world poiltics and economic interdependence.
Oh, wait... i forgot there's an investigation.
However, it has changed the election outcome significantly in Spain. This terrorist act would illustrate to those who instigated, attacks before election is capable of yielding a change in government.
Not really a good target in that respect, relatively soft structures and good transport links for emergency services.Quote:

The thing about the WTC was that it is in the middle of a gridlocked city, almost no emergency service accessibility and thousands of people confined to a very small ground footprint.
Makes you wonder if Madrid was a precursor to something worse. Its about time governments stopped funding art galleries and gay marriages and started torturing terrorists for info.
Brings it all flooding back though, doesnt it. :(
(These views are not necessarily those of anyone else but me)
This was much larger than any normal attack though so we can assume that it was intended as a fear attack. :(
Not exactly. Hence the hundreds of police and firefighters killed.Quote:

I stand corrected on my earlier comments. It seems that the terrorist attack in Madrid did succeed for the first time. Why? Because the people elected a government that is ready to hide under the skirt of the French government along with Germany under there. So Sad.
Please note, I said Spanish, French, and German governments, not the general populace/citizens.
Although, the voting Spanish seem to be okay with it......
Yeah and that's all that matters to them.
What do they care about the opinion of a few flatfooted yanks ? And more importantly, why should anyone care about the opinion of opinionated Americans who think they own the world ?
90% of the Spanish population did not want to get involved with the war in Iraq, and now they've got rid of a government that went against the peoples wishes.Quote:

Spain's PM-elect just sent a message to the world that terrorism works...sad.
You are absolutely correct. In 1941, the Yanks and their opinionated opinions should have stayed out of Europe's business....Quote:

Oh here we go, another round of "if it weren't for us you'd all be speaking German".
The last refuge of those with too few arguments to support their bigoted rants.
How predictable and how utterly boring. And how easy to wind up too :)
But can you deny it? Can you explain anything otherwise? Talk about biting the hand that feeds.
So, you think it was okay for us to involve ourselves in world affairs when it was YOUR arses getting hit by Nazi U-boats and bombers? But we are trying to rule the world by liberating 27 million Iraqis? By the way, it was your boys too over there in Iraq helping with the liberating.
What logic is this?
Oh, if it is so predictable, should be re-write history like most revisionist liberals do?
