You guys ever used it? If so what do you think?
Ooops.....sorry, wrong thread
I use it all the time, it's absolutly wonderful. Extreamly good for testing applications in different OSes and stuff or tweaking the OS to see what happens, best part is, if it breaks, you don't loose your stuff :D.
a great excuse to run BeOS, LindowsOS, and others from the peanut gallery :D
currently i've got 18 different OSes ready to roll ;)
It's ok. I rather use the previous version from VMWare. Microsoft took it over and removed the ability to use it in Windows 98 and took out the Linux option in the setup guest OS System. So the Microsoft Version is actually a downgrade rather than a upgrade.
I have a motto 'If Microsoft can do it then someone else can do it better' which is true in this case.
With this version of VirtualPC I cant use linux?
I stand corrected
1. The software is from Connectix not VM Ware
2. Linux can run on it as the article http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,4149,1378274,00.asp mentions. I do believe it is harder to set Linux up on Microsoft's version though since Microsoft is definitely anti-Linux.
Thank you for the link!
its not harder at all to setup linux on VPC since m$ bought it
all they did was remove the linux option in the create a pc wizard.... all the wizard is is some suggested settings for memory and maybe a couple other things.. nothing that can't be setup manually
I recently installed Fedora under VPC 2004 and after some minor configuration, i have it running beautiful! In the past i have also installed Slackware and Red Hat. They all work great. M$ ust took out all the linux wizards.
