New Job

Hello Everybody, I just got a new job, for a programming team, and I am the one who does the information gathering, does anybody know of some Programming IRC Channels or something??

because I need to gather information on what people would like in an install maker kind of thing(sort of like InstallShield).

I have plenty of people to talk to, but I need to work 3 hours a week, and I cant talk to those people for a half an hour each on what they would like(well I could, but it doesnt take that long to talk to someone)

if somebody could please email me or post here some Serious Programming IRC Channels, nothing like 3L1T3 #ac|<0r duD3s...

i been using irc for ages
and as soon as a script got a install shield crap
i dont install it

try to avoid using any type of installation (use zip files)

Belive me I've had enough experience with IRC (November will mark my 4th year) typically on the programming rings (#C, #visualbasic, #VC....) such as on dalnet or efnet, keep in mind most of them HATE newbies, which doesnt make sense much to me, as I've tutors bunch of newbies on IRC in 3 years. however, there are some channels on the undernet server that dont share the same annoyance to newbies(anyone that doesnt know what they know is a newbie to them) one thing to keep in mind, dont generalize too much, keep very detailed when asking something on IRC, one of the things they hate is to have to spend a few extra lines explaining what you just typed. You may get the typical response, to read the help file, or search the internet. In general most programming sites on major servers, are either unhelpful, or it's more of a Clic/club than a help channel.

and I was planning on spending the money buying myself a domain name, and a web hosting service, with this money I can get one good enough that they have to charge by the month(most of the time the yearly or no-charge ones really suck)

I was also planning on using the money to buy the educational version of Borland Delphi Enterprise(AFAIK its $400)

and if I have any left over from that, I think I'll buy a brand new 12x8x32 CDR/W, along with a Brand New Car...
Ok, the car Is kind of not a very good idea(considering I still have 2 years before I drive, and unless I want to get a $500 piece of trash, I am gonna have to work A LOT of months......)......

oh, and another word on the pokemon thing, the other day I found some of my brothers friends pokemon cards in my moms car, and I ripped them up.... then when the kid came over I put them in his shoes(he took them off), you should have seen his face when he saw them all ripped up :D

Remembered a few posts you made on a pokemon thread. I agree the things are for total lamers. You shouldn't have ripped up the guys cards though, they were probably his priced positions.

By the way l don't have a team. This would imply a pack mentality which is the anti-thesis of individual thought. Kind of explains those rappers and their possies, l mean how long did it take them to come up with the lines....

Hmm I remeber telling kids how to identify a fake/conterfeit pokemon card (since my dad would buy them for my brother all the time, whata waste of money) they would all panic and look at all their cards, it's nothing more pathetic than a bunch of kids, screaming and hollowing trying to trade those things, or brag about the ones they have, and yet most of them didnt even understand the concept of trading cards, "you trade to get ones you DONT have", in any case there a waste of money, it continues to spoil my little brothers, and they both think Dragon BallZ is the best anime out there (my god that sucks, I'd rather watch Armitage, Ghost in the shell, Lain, BubbleGumCrisis, etc)

but basically if it's anime, it good, but if it's americanized anime with the intent of making kids buy a ton of crap they dont need it's crap, for example sailormoon the original was actually a pretty good series, untill they started making the americanized version for kids in the US, which turned out to be really lame.
