Not sure on Fileplanet's policy, could give them a try.
Try Softotex.com-they have freeware listing, free to list a freeware app.
At my Babya Software Group website, if you register first for a free account, you can submit download listings in the downloads section link
http://babyasystem.portal.dk3.com
the listing fee im sure is used to keep casual script kiddie stuff out
Disadvantages non-shareware authors, as freeware should bear no cost for a listing-maybe, contact CNET ask siggest a no-cost listing for freeware authors.
CNet doesnt care.
i think it saves them a huge headache by having the listing fee, and they took note as soon as they implemented it
SourceForge
hehe yeah I can assume that... umm btw if I pay that fee for download.com, does any of you know if I have to repay it everytime I upgrade my app's version?:DQuote:

kasracer, sourcefourge charges too, I think. Do you HAVE TO put your source code up there?:D
I don't think sourceforge charges.... but if it's freeware, why not put up the source?

I dont know why, but I really don;t like sharing my sourcecode hehe
the reason for not putting up source is
1 - like polite said people could donate
2 - giving it for free is a good way of seeing traffic/testing whether or not you could get away with charging
