CD Burning problem....urgent
my hardware config is below.. but heres the problem im having... i just recently upgraded from an intel 810 mobo to a amd nf7-m mobo.. and my burner worked fine before i upgraded..actually.. it worked anywthat i had it.. on any channel and in any position on that channel... (its an atapi/ide drive, dont really know what to call it.. my bios calls it atapi but its hooked up to an ide channel)... and when i go to burn a disc in nero, or using thenative win xp burning thingy... it gets to writing the lead in, doesn't write anything to the disc, and the computer locks up. In nero, i t starts writing the lead in and then the status changes to failed and i cant do anything.. my hard drive at this point is constantly being accessed and i need to restart the machine... everything worked fine before as ive said... and i dont know why it wont work now.. i have a few ideas however.. befor ei upgraded (i instaled a fresh copy on winxp... but on a non formatted hard drive because i forgot to backup files.. so i got them when i installed xp, and i was going to burn them and wipe the drive.. but i cant burn)... my idea is that i y need adaptec's aspi drivers, altho i dont have a scsi drive... i know that before i installed the board, my aspi drivers were installed and working, and now it says that file versions are incorrect.. so thats the only thing i acn think of.. ive tried installing the drive with the disc that came with it and no luck..
if anyone has any ideas please help as i need to abck up my data so i can get the system to work right.. and i cant do that until i get my burner working properly...
